drymonster: (don't think edward would approve of that)

Um, thanks.

...In retrospect we really should have gone to get someone with a real weapon, but it seemed like it would be bad to waste time if whoever was out there was still alive.

[ those were mostly laudna's thoughts; he definitely thought they should leave it to someone else aside from a few moments where his misplaced alpha confidence broke through. but that sounds a lot less heroic. ]
drymonster: (well that wasn't very good)

Yeah.

[ sighs. ]

Man. It's not like I don't understand why someone would have decided to kill her this week, but I thought she was going to talk to the overseers about putting her back in that barrier tonight so her monster couldn't hurt anyone. Kind of sucks that we didn't get a chance to try it.
drymonster: ('cause... you weren't alive back then)

Famine had said it was something they could try when I asked them, at least. I think the concern would have been less about the cult finding out and more about the question of whether the barrier would actually stay up during that time since so much other stuff gets weird.
drymonster: (and i'm like "what's up with that?")

[ nods. he doesn't know shit about magic, but that seems reasonable. ]

So there's probably a good chance it wouldn't have worked, but... I still wish we knew that for sure. I don't know what other possible options there could even be.
