...Will you pick out a few books to bring back to the village?
[ as he adjusts his box full of them, he gives her a little smile, though it's a little sad. ]
Before... before this weekend, Marina told me that she really wanted to build a bookstore, if she ever got out of her hometown and out of here. She said that bookstores were always safe places for her, and... places to escape from the real world. We talked about how we would try and build a library in the village, so that when we left this place, people would still be able to have something small to escape to, with all of the things we experience.
Now that she's gone, I... I want to make sure that we build it. I think if we get as many people as we can to pick out just one or two books, we could make a really nice library.
[ it puts a smile on his face, more clear - this made him very happy. ]
I think... I've been trying to end these weeks on the best note that I can. They're awful, but... we have to try and find something to keep us going, no matter how small.
[ just one more day. no matter how much of a struggle, no matter how much pain. understanding rings through his voice, and he steps back a little so as not to snoop. ]
I think there are a lot of those little things around. It is in times like these that we must find them and hold them as close as we can.
The people who are here is another. The fact that maybe tomorrow, the place we'll visit will be as extraordinary as this one was. [ ... ] The fact that we'll be able to return Miss Camille to us soon and I won't have to lie about it much longer, is another.
[ god he's so tired of lying. ] I've... had to try and shy away from conversations that would be too close to it more times than I can count, already.
War said they'd be happy to provide [ has war ever said they're happy about anything. debatable. but also ] a veil. It just might not be tomorrow - we might have to wait one more day. But... it's coming.
... I'll be happy to see her. I don't know if she'll be so happy to see us, but... that's okay.
They did? [she turns to him, surprised, before a little bit of tension drains from her shoulders.] That's a relief.
[camille can lose her shit in peace. thank god.]
I don't think she'll be happy with us, but it's to be expected. [she wouldn't be happy if it was her, so.] I'm just ready to finally get this over with. Hearing everyone assume the worst, mourning her... It's been awful.

[she's a little taken aback for a moment, before she nods.]
Yeah, of course. I would barely call that a favor. I'll pick something I think would be a good addition for a library.

she turns to the shelves, browsing through the different titles for something to add to his box.]
Something to look forward to, right? Something... that makes us want to keep living, even if only for one more day.
