Um... The overseers start their ritual around the same time we're finishing up our investigations, and that's why the pyre turns blue. And no one is putting up those posters that appear after someone has died. It's just the energy of this place reacting to their deaths.

So what can we... do with that information?

It's not useless. Any information you're able to get is still information we didn't have before.
