And it we have them and not the cultists... Maybe we can do it? Depending on what it's for? Or maybe these are just something they need, and us having them instead will mean they can't do their ritual?

It's not about being nice. If we rely wholly on him, what will we do if he's killed or possessed?

I'm not saying we only rely on him. If it happens, it happens. We deal with it then. It could happen to anyone, but the solution isn't to stop counting on people just in case.
